Haran Naresh previews Badshot Lea’s visit to Walton.
Badshot Lea have struggled this year, winning only five of their 21 games in all competitions, but aim to get back to winning ways when they visit Walton and Hersham this weekend.
Badshot Lea are currently 21st in the Combined Counties League Premier Division. ‘The Baggies’ have won two of their last four games, as their form has partially recovered. They lost their previous five games in all competitions before beating Bedfont and Feltham at the start of October.
A week later Badshot Lea beat fellow strugglers North Greenford United 2-1. On Wednesday they lost 2-0 at home to Sandhurst Town in the Aldershot Senior Cup.
Last season Walton and Hersham finished 22nd in the Isthmian League Division One South and were subsequently relegated to the Combined Counties League Premier Division.
Walton and Hersham, also known as ‘The Swans’, are unbeaten in their seven league games at home this season (won three, drawn four). The home side are enjoying a strong campaign, and lie in fifth place, albeit a full 20 points behind league leaders Hartley Wintney.
The Swans have only lost one game in the league all season.
Walton and Hersham are coming into the game following a 3-0 home win over Thame United in the first round of the FA Vase with a goal from Jamil Okai and a brace from Jordan Wisdom-Muir.
