Derby Day Washout for Farnham

Dan Mountney reports on the postponement of a much-anticipated fixture.

The Surrey derby between Farnham Town FC and Guildford City FC succumbed to the weather, as the game was abandoned with the pitch unplayable due to standing water.

Farnham have been struggling towards the foot of the table and will be disappointed with postponement as they looked to return to form against their biggest rivals.

Dissapointment

Guildford on the other hand have made a positive start to the campaign, currently sitting fifth in the table on 31 points but, will share the same disappointment as Farnham, having won another local derby against Camberley Town 1-0 a week earlier.

There has been no date confirmed as of yet on a when the game will be rescheduled for but, it will definitely be a game that everyone involved with both clubs will be looking forward to.

As for this weekend, Farnham will be looking to pick up a crucial three points away to fellow strugglers Sutton Common Rovers ahead of another local derby against Badshot Lea on the 26th November.
