Guildford Flames’ s Premiership double-header this weekend sees them travel to Peterborough on Saturday to play the Phantoms before taking on Bracknell Bees at home on Sunday, as Ola Bjerkovoll reports.
The Flames are on a bad run of form after three losses on the bounce.
Paul Dixon’s men have not been performing well over the last month having only won two of their last 12 games and they sit near the bottom in both the Premiership and Cup tables, losing last weekend’s home game 4-2 to Hull Pirates.
Peterborough are sitting fifth out of the 10 teams in the league, and sit one place above Guildford in the Cup table. The Phantoms are, unlike their opposition on Saturday, in good form having won seven of their last 10 games.
Sunday’s opponent Bracknell are ninth in the league with the same amount of points having won four and lost 16, including one in overtime, so far in the league. The Bees have a total of eight wins and 28 losses in both league and cup this season. They are on a worse run of form than the Flames having lost 8 out of the last 10 games.
The Flames have a good record against Bracknell with two of the team’s highest ever wins coming against the Bees with 10-2 in 2009 and 8-0 in 2011.
