Farnham Reclinch Top Spot

Alex Lambe reports on a good week for local rygby.

Farnham returned to the summit of London 3 South West as a late try rally secured them a bonus point win over Weybridge Vandals. Tries from Luke Batten, Ed Weeks, Corlett and Toby Salmon, who would contribute 19 points in total thanks to his two tries, three conversions and a penalty, secured the bonus-point victory.

The Black and Whites have been going toe to toe with nearest challengers Eastleigh all season, and currently find themselves one-point clear at the top of the division. They’ll be looking to extend that one-point gap when they welcome Old Cranleighians, who are breathing down the neck of Eastleigh in second..

This weekend is set to be an exciting round of fixtures, as well as Farnham welcoming third-placed Old Cranleighians, Eastleigh welcome fourth-placed Basingstoke. Farnham will be hoping that Eastleigh slip up so they can extend their lead at the top of the table.

Despite Eastleigh remaining the only unbeaten team in the division, Farnham top the division after securing more try bonus points.

Farnham’s match against Old Cranleighians is set to be an intriguing encounter. An upturn in form for Old Cranleighians has left them only five points behind Eastleigh, so they’ll be keen to turn the form book around with a win against the league leaders.
