Tynesiders In Town

Haran Naresh previews a tough encounter for Woking.

Woking FC are currently in 20th place in the National League, above the relegation zone due only to their goal difference. ‘The Cardinals’ have only won four league games all season.

The Surrey side have won three of their last five games in all competitions. They secured a 3-0 away victory against Maidstone United last week.

Twenty-three-year-old midfielder Fabio Saraiva opened the scoring, continuing his good run of form with his fourth goal in two games while striker Gozie Ugwu scored a brace.

For Woking, this victory ended a run of eight league games without a win. It was their first victory in the league since the 17th September and their first away victory in the league.

Gateshead are ninth in the National League. The Tynesiders are unbeaten in their last nine league games, winning their last away fixture 5-0 against Dagenham and Redbridge.

Gateshead are seven points off the play-off places.
